‘Gahnun on Shabbat’ by current UEA student Leeor Ohayon has been longlisted for the 2021 Royal Society of Literature V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize. Leeor (pictured) is a writer and photographer based in north east London and a part-time student on the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA. He is due to graduate in 2022. Earlier this year he was shortlisted for the Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize and was the winner of the Leicester Writes Short Story Prize. The V.S. Pritchett Short Story Prize is worth £1,000, and the winning story will also be published in Prospect Magazine and the RSL Review. UEA alumna Emily Ruth Ford won the prize in 2017 and 2018. This year’s shortlist is announced on 24 November and the winner on 15 December.
