My Car Plays Tapes is a short memoir by UEA alumnus John Osborne and has just been published by Broken Sleep Books. John graduated from UEA with a BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2000 and has since published a number of books, including Radio Head: Up and Down the Dial of British Radio (2009), The Newsagent’s Window (2010), and Most People Aren’t That Happy, Anyway (2013), and You’re In A Very Bad Way (2020). In 2015 he co-wrote After Hours, a six-part comedy drama, with fellow graduate Molly Naylor, which was broadcast on Sky1. His latest collection of poetry, A Supermarket Love Story, was published by Go Faster Stripe last year.
