Lightseekers, the debut crime novel by UEA alumnus Femi Kayode, has been longlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger Award for the best crime novel of 2022. It was published by Raven Books, an imprint of Bloomsbury, last year. Femi graduated from the MA in Crime Fiction at UEA in 2018, when he was the recipient of the Little, Brown UEA Crime Writing Prize. He has worked for the last twenty years in advertising, during which time was was also a Packard Gates Fellow in Film at the University of Southern California and a Gates Fellow in International Health at the University of Washington. He has also written and and developed several award-winning TV dramas. Lightseekers is the first in a series of novels and has also been published in numerous countries around the world. Femi lives in Namibia with his wife and two sons. The shortlist for the CWA Gold Dagger Award will be announced on 13 May and the winner on 29 June.
