Coward: Why We Get Anxious & What We Can Do About It is the new book by UEA alumnus Tim Clare and is published by Canongate this week. Tim graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2004 and published his first book, the memoir We Can’t All Be Astronauts, in 2009. This was the winner of the Best Biography prize at the East Anglian Book Awards. His first novel The Honours was published by Canongate in 2015 and longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize. His second novel The Ice House was published by Canongate in 2019. As a stand-up poet, he has performed widely the UK and internationally. His debut collection, Pub Stuntman, was published by Nasty Little Press in 2012. Tim has performed his work on BBC television and radio and has written for The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Big Issue and Writing magazine, among others. He is the presenter of the podcast for writers, Death Of 1000 Cuts.
