Girl Online: A User Manual is the new work by UEA alumna Joanna Walsh and is published by Verso this week. Joanna completed her PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA in 2020. Among her previous books are Break.up, Vertigo, Hotel, Seed, Grow a Pair, Words from the World’s End, My Life as a Godard Movie, and most recently Miss-Communication, written in collaboration with an Artificial Intelligence. Her writing has been widely anthologized, and she has edited fiction and creative nonfiction at 3AM Magazine, Catapult, Five Dials and Gorse Editions. She was awarded a UK Arts Foundation fellowship in 2017 and an Irish government Markievicz Award in the Literature category in 2020, which funded her work on Miss-Communication.
