Workout! is a poetry-theatre show by UEA alumnus Lewis Buxton and makes its sold-out debut at Norwich Arts Centre this week as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. Lewis (pictured) graduated from the BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2014 and from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2020. His debut collection Boy in Various Poses was published by Nine Arches Press last year and his work has previously appeared in Ambit Magazine, Oxford Poetry, Magma, The Rialto, and Ink, Sweat and Tears. In 2017 he was shortlisted for the Oxford Brookes International Poetry Prize and in 2020 he was the winner of the Winchester Poetry Prize. Lewis is the co-director and co-founder of TOAST Poetry, an organisation dedicated to the professional development of poets, and he teaches creative writing in schools, libraries and universities around the country.
