The Coast Road by UEA alumnus Alan Murrin has been shortlisted for the PetersFraser+Dunlop Queer Fiction Prize in the Adult Fiction category. The winner will be signed to PFD and supported in writing to the end of their novel. Originally from Donegal, Alan (pictured) studied English Studies at Trinity College Dublin, and graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2017. Now based in Berlin, he writes for The Irish Times, The Times Literary Supplement and The Spectator. Last year his short story ‘The Wake’ was shortlisted for the Writing.ie Short Story of the Year competition. It was first published in Waves of Change (Fresher Publishing). The Coast Road was previously longlisted for the Caledonia Novel Award.
