Human Terrain by UEA alumna Emily Bullock has been longlisted for the 2022 Edge Hill Prize, which is worth £10,000 and is awarded for excellence in a short story collection. The collection was published by Reflex Press last year. Emily graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2004, having previously gained an MA in 19th Century Literature from King’s College, London. She holds a PhD from the Open University, where she teaches Creative Writing. Her debut novel, The Longest Flight, was published by Myriad Editions in 2015 and was shortlisted for the Cross Sports Book Awards. Her second novel, Inside the Beautiful Inside, was published by Everything With Words in 2020. Emily was the winner of the 2011 Bristol Short Story Prize with her story, ‘My Girl’, which was also broadcast on BBC Radio 4.
