‘Prayers’ by UEA student Leeor Ohayon has been longlisted for the 2022 QuietManDave Prize, a short-form writing prize run by the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University and which offers a top prize of £1,000. Leeor (pictured) is shortly to graduate from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA and was recently shortlisted for the White Review Short Story Prize (along with fellow UEA student Jekwu Anyaegbuna) and selected for the 2022-23 London Library Emerging Writers Programme, which offers one year’s free membership of the library, writing development masterclasses and networking opportunities. His story ‘Gahnun on Shabbat’ was the winner of the 2021 Royal Society of Literature’s V.S Pritchett Prize and published in Prospect Magazine and the RSL Review. In 2021 he also won the Leicester Writes Short Story Prize and was shortlisted for the Brick Lane Bookshop Short Story Prize.
