UEA alumnus Paddy Hughes has won the North West Original New Voice Award and Residency for his play Leave the Morning to the Morning. The prize is in its inaugural year and is offered in partnership with the Royal Exchange Theatre as part of this year’s Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting. Paddy (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) in 2016 and works as a playwright, dramaturg and script reader based in Liverpool. Leave the Morning to the Morning was also shortlisted for the 2022 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, which was previously won by UEA Scriptwriting lecturer, Ben Musgrove, and 2008 MA alumna Janice Okoh.
