‘Kamal and the Bad Superimposition’ by recent UEA alumna Zui Kumar-Reddy has been shortlisted for the Guardian 4thWrite prize, a short story competition for unpublished writers of colour. Born in Bangalore, Zui (pictured) has just graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) as the inaugural recipient of the Sonny Mehta India Scholarship. Her writing has previously been published in Out of Print, DNA, Homegrown, The Legendary and The Peal. She was the winner of the 2015 DNA-Out of Print Short Story Award. The winner of the Guardian 4thWrite prize receives £1,000, a one-day publishing workshop at 4th Estate and publication of their story on the Guardian website.
