Iron Man by alumna Lynne Bryan has won the Biography & Memoir category at the 2022 East Anglian Book Awards. The memoir was published by Salt in November 2021.Lynne graduated from the MA in Creative Writing in 1985 and is the author of the short story collection Envy At The Cheese Handout (Faber & Faber 1995) and the novels Gorgeous and Like Rabbits (Sceptre 1999 and 2002). She was the co-founder with fellow UEA alumna Belona Greenwood of Words and Women, a literary organisation that supported women writers in the East of England, for which she co-edited six anthologies of short prose and was nominated for the 2015 Women in Publishing Award. Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and her story A Regular Thing was made into an award-winning Danish short film. Lynne teaches at the National Centre of Writing. The overall winner of the East Anglian Book Awards will be announced on 16 February at the National Centre for Writing in Norwich.
