Looking Glass Sound is the new novel by UEA alumna Catriona Ward and is published by Viper Books this week. Catriona grew up in America, Kenya, Madagascar, Yemen and Morocco. She studied English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at UEA in 2011. Her debut novel, Rawblood, was published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2015 and was the winner of the August Derleth Award in 2016. It was also shortlisted for the 2016 Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award. Little Eve, her second novel, was published in the UK by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in 2018 and won the August Derleth Award in 2019. It also won the prize for best novel in the Shirley Jackson Awards for outstanding achievement in horror, psychological suspense, and dark fantasy fiction. The Last House on Needless Street was published by Viper in 2021 and was a Sunday Times bestseller. It was shortlisted in the Pageturner of the Year category at the Bookseller British Book Awards (the ‘Nibbies’) and the Kitschies Red Tentacle (Novel) Award, and was the winner of the August Derleth Award (Best Horror Novel). Sundial was published in 2022 by Viper in the UK and Tor Nightfire in the USA and has been shortlisted in the Best Hardback Thriller category at the International Thriller Writers Awards. In 2022 Catriona was also  selected as the Literature nominee for the Breakthrough Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards.
