The Daughters of Madurai is the debut novel by UEA alumna Rajasree Variyar and is published by Orion this week. Born in Bangalore and raised in Sydney, Australia, Rajasree now lives in London. She graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2020. She won second prize in the Shooter Literary Magazine short story competition in 2019 and was longlisted for the Brick Lane Bookshop short story competition in 2020. The Daughters of Madurai was shortlisted for the Mo Siewcharran Prize.
