Mercia’s Take by UEA alumnus Daniel Wiles has been shortlisted for the Betty Trask Prize for a first novel by a writer under 35. Daniel (pictured) is from Walsall in the West Midlands. He completed the UEA’s Prose Fiction MA in 2020, where he was the recipient of the Booker Prize Foundation Scholarship. Mercia’s Take is his first novel and was published by Swift Press in 2022.
