UEA alumna Jekwu Anyaegbuna has won this year’s Poetry London Prize, an internationally renowned award for a single outstanding poem. Jekwu (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2019 as that year’s recipient of the Miles Morland Scholarship and is currently undertaking a fully-funded PhD in Creative and Critical Writing. He was awarded a fellowship by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation for Creative Writing and was the winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for Africa. His writing has appeared in Granta, Ambit, Magma, The Massachusetts Review, Transition and Prairie Schooner.
