Niamh Connolly won the 2024 Discoveries Prize

Game Theory, a novel-in-progress, by current UEA student Niamh Connolly has won the Women’s Prize Trust’s 2024 Discoveries Prize. Niamh (pictured) is an Irish writer, who is currently completing her MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) at the UEA. She has a BA degree in English and History from University College Cork. Her writing has appeared in The Gloss and in Life magazine of the Sunday Independent. As the winner of the prize, Niamh receives an offer of representation by Curtis Brown and a cash prize of £5,000. In July, she will also join Curtis Brown Creative’s bespoke two-week Discoveries Writing Development course, alongside the fifteen other writers longlisted for Discoveries 2024. This will be tutored by the acclaimed author and former Women’s Prize shortlisted writer, Charlotte Mendelson.
