Makoto Murders by current UEA student Richard Jerram has been shortlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Debut Dagger Award. The award is sponsored by ProWritingAid and is open to anyone in the world writing in English for the opening of a crime novel. Richard (pictured) is a second-year student on the MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction). He embarked on a new career as a crime fiction writer after years of using his doctorate from the LSE to work as an economist in London, Tokyo, and Singapore. The winner of the Debut Dagger will be announced on 4 July.
