An extract of Pretzel, a novel-in-progress, by UEA alumna Hilary Hudgins was included in the 2023 Bridport Novel-Extract Anthology, as it had been longlisted for the 2023 Peggy Chapman-Andrews First Novel Award. Hilary (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2023. Hilary Hudgins is a New York writer interested in stories of judgment and empathy currently shopping two novels. Pretzel was also longlisted for the 2024 Society of Authors McKitterick Prize.
