The Tumbling Girl by UEA alumna Bridget Walsh has won the Historical Writers’ Association’s Debut Crown Award. The HWA Awards celebrate the best historical writing, fiction and non-fiction. Bridget (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Crime Fiction) in 2019 as a recipient of the David Higham and her dissertation won the UEA Little, Brown Award. Her debut novel The Tumbling Girl was published by Gallic Books in 2023. The Innocents, her second, was published by Gallic Books this month. The Tumbling Girl was previously longlisted for the CWA New Blood Dagger.
