Ferdia Lennon shortlisted for the Walter Scott Prize

Glorious Exploits by UEA alumnus Ferdia Lennon has been shortlisted for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. Ferdia (pictured) is from Dublin and studied History and Classical Studies at University College Dublin before joining the UEA MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction). He graduated in 2014. His work has been published in a number of journals and anthologies and in 2012 he was shortlisted for the Sean O’ Faolain Short Story Competition, was longlisted for the Bristol Short Story Prize in 2019, and in 2020 was longlisted for the Galley Beggar Prize. He was recently selected for the National Centre for Writing’s International Literature Exchange program, supported by the British Council and Arts Council England. Earlier this year Glorious Exploits won the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize and was shortlisted for their Book of the Year Prize. It is also currently shortlisted for the Dylan Thomas Prize.
