Imogen McHugh & Olivia Tuck placed in the Disabled Poets Prize

Two UEA alumnae have placed in the Disable Poets Prize in the Best Single Poem Category. Imogen Mchugh (pictured), who graduated from the BA in English Literature with Creative Writing 2021 and the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2022, placed 2nd for her poem ‘After her recruitment’; and Olivia Tuck, who graduated from the MA in Creative writing (Poetry) in 2023 placed 3rd for ‘according to the many who loved her’.

Imogen’s poetry has featured on the Ink Sweat and Tears website, and her short story, ‘The Fall of Man’, was broadcast in 2021 by BBC Radio 4 as part of the New Frequencies programme. Her debut poetry pamphlet “The King’s Bones’ was published by Dempsey & Windlein in 2022.

Olivia’s work has been published by the Poetry Society and Broken Sleep, and in several print and online journals. She was longlisted for the 2022 Rebecca Swift Foundation Women Poets’ Prize, and is an associate editor at Tears in the Fence and at Lighthouse. Her pamphlet Things Only Borderlines Know is out now with Black Rabbit Press. She won second place in the Jane Martin Poetry Prize.
