Rob Atkinson worked in zoos and the RSPCA, and was chief executive officer of an elephant sanctuary in the USA. He now writes and is working on establishing a vast, natural-habitat sanctuary on the Mediterranean coast for elephants rescued from the arenas and concrete cells of Europe’s circuses and zoos.
