

Brit Bildøen, born 1962, is a Norwegian writer who writes in nynorsk. Educated as a librarian, she published her first book, a collection of poetry, in 1991. She has written children’s books, poems and essays, but most of her 14 published books are novels. Her latest novel is Seven days in August and was recently acclaimed Best Novel 2014 by radio listeners at Norwegian Broadcasting. Besides writing, Brit Bildøen does all sorts of literary work, including translating, teaching creative writing, and working for publishers as a literary consultant.
