Matthew Blackman is the co-author with Nick Dall of Rogues Gallery: An Irreverent History of Corruption in South Africa (2021) and Spoilt Ballots: The Elections that Shaped South Africa, from Shaka to Cyril (2022), both published by Penguin Random House. He has written as a journalist on corruption in South Africa, as well as on art, literature and history. He has a PhD from the University of East Anglia. He lives in Cape Town with a dog of nameless breed.
