
Jaswal, Balli Kaur
Balli Kaur Jaswal is the author of four novels, including Singapore Literature Prize finalist Sugarbread, and the bestselling Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows, which was chosen by Reese Witherspoon's book club and optioned for a film by Ridley Scott's production company. Her debut novel Inheritance won the Sydney Morning Herald's Best Young Australian Novelist award, and was adapted into a film at the Singapore International Festival of the Arts. She was the David T.K. Wong Writing Fellow at UEA in 2007-08 and has also held a fellowship at Nanyang Technological University. Her latest novel The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters was published internationally and by Harper Collins in the USA and UK in 2019.
