Lord, Frances
Frances Lord is a writer and visual arts curator with specialism in contemporary craft and commissioning projects for the public realm. She is a graduate of the UEA Biography and Creative Non-Fiction MA 2021 and also has a MA in Art History from the University of London. Published writing includes essays on contemporary artists and makers, on-line interviews and case-studies. Her dissertation topic at UEA was the life and work of her father the artist David Haughton. She is interested in how his work sits in terms of mainstream post-war British art and why, despite critical success during his lifetime and representation in public collections, his name is little known now. A extract from Gossip as fresh as yesterday which explored Haughton’s early career was published in the UEA Creative Non-Fiction Anthology 2021. She is currently developing her dissertation into a monograph.
