Julianne Pachico grew up in Cali, Colombia, and lived there until she was eighteen. She graduated from the UEA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) MA in 2013, and completed her PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA in 2017. Between 2018 and 2020 she also taught on the Creative Writing programme. Her debut collection of stories, The Lucky Ones, was published by Faber & Faber in 2017 and was shortlisted for The Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award. Her debut novel The Anthill was published by Doubleday in the US in 2020 and by Faber & Faber in the UK in 2021. Her work has been published in a number of journals including Lighthouse and The New Yorker and in 2015 she was longlisted for the Sunday Times/EFT Short Story Award. Julianne’s novel Jungle House is published in November 2023 by Serpent’s Tail.
