Nick Shadowen studied philosophy at Duquesne University where he received the Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Philosophy. He has travelled throughout Europe and America, living for a time in Rome and Mount Desert Island, Maine, where he finished his first novel. He is currently working on a book of interlinked tales about courage, choice, exile, and art.
