
Whitaker, Phil
Phil Whitaker studied for an MA in creative writing at UEA in 1995-6. He has published six novels and won several prizes for his fiction, including the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize and the Encore Award. Alongside writing, Phil is a practising GP and medical editor of the New Statesman, where he writes about medicine and health. What Is a Doctor? is his first work of narrative non-fiction.
