New Writing

Jung Choi has several nicknames, but she is most often lovingly called an “English nerd” by her best friends. She isn’t an “English nerd” because she is a nerd from England—she’s from South Korea. She’s earned the title thanks to her weirdly affectionate obsession with English literature. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë is one of her most beloved works. She took up writing as a hobby before the age of ten. Her earliest works were about rainbows and unicorns, but she fortunately (or unfortunately) abandoned such topics long ago. She now prefers writing introspective stories and lyrical poetry. Over the years, she has experimented with writing about approximately a trillion themes, from alienation to zealotry. Her personal favourites include identity, obsession, and the mundane. In the future, she hopes to keep reading and writing, and to finally complete that one story buried deep in her computer’s hard drive.
