Lokesh Thinagar

Though I didn’t start writing until my early teens, I loved to read for as long as I can remember, spending countless lunchtimes in the library and hours at home with series like Percy Jackson and Red Rising. I was soon drawn to science fiction, enamoured by classics such as Asimov’s Foundation and Douglas Adams’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In Years 7 and 8, I began crafting my own tales of galactic civilisations and their politics, and that spark grew into a genuine passion. My first competition, the FOBISIA Creative Writing Contest, took two attempts to win, and that first taste of recognition gave me the confidence to aim for larger stages such as this very competition included. I’m a writer who loves big ideas and faraway worlds, and I hope my work invites others to explore them with me.
