Lydia Davis

Lydia Davis is an American short story writer, novelist, essayist and translator. Among her several collections of short fiction are Varieties of Disturbance (2007) and Can’t and Won’t (2014). She was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1997 and a MacArthur Fellowship in 2003, and was named a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for her fiction and translation in 1999. She was shortlisted for the 2007 National Book Award and was the winner of the Man Booker International Prize in 2013.
