Thomas Lee

Thomas Lee is a sixth-form student from Malaysia with a deep interest in art, architecture, and Southeast Asian cultural narratives. His work often explores themes of identity, power, and personal memory, drawing inspiration from both contemporary art and lived experience. He was first introduced to Yee I-Lann’s Orang Besar Series while analysing the work for his A Level Art, using it to inform his own exploration of political suppression and dependency. Outside the classroom, Thomas loves to swim, run and is active in community initiatives, including organising art and charity events that support underprivileged groups. Thomas hopes to pursue architecture and continue using creative storytelling to engage with Southeast Asia’s layered landscapes, politics, and people.
