‘The Doll Princess’ is the first novel by recent UEA Creative Writing graduate, Tom Benn, and is published by Jonathan Cape today. Tom (pictured)
graduated from UEA’s BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2009, and graduated from the MA in Prose Fiction in 2010, having been that year’s
recipient of the Malcolm Bradbury Memorial Bursary. ‘The Doll Princess’ is set in Manchester in the wake of the IRA bombing. ‘Chamber Music’, the second of a projected series of literary crime novels set in gangland Manchester, will be published next year. Tom is currently working on a historical novel, for which he was awarded a bursary from the Arts Council’s Grants for the Arts
