UEA Creative Writing alumnus Luke Williams is the winner of the Saltire Society’s Scottish First Book of the Year Award for his debut novel, ‘The Echo
Chamber’, which was published by Hamish Hamilton last year. Luke was born in 1977 and grew up in Fife, Scotland. He studied History at Edinburgh University before joining the UEA Creative Writing MA in 2001. After graudation he was awarded the 2003 Charles Pick Fellowship and subsequently moved to London, where he set up a live literature event, Plum, with fellow UEA graduate, Natasha Soobramanien, who contributed two chapters to ‘The Echo Chamber’ and with whom he is collaborating on a new novel-length project combining fiction and non-fiction. Natasha’s first novel will be published by Myriad later this
year.
