UEA alumnus Tom Lee has been shortlisted for this year’s Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award, which is worth £30,000 to the winner. Tom
(pictured) graduated from UEA’s undergraduate programme at UEA in 1993 and published his first collection of stories ‘Greenfly’ in 2009. His stories
have been published in The Sunday Times Magazine, Prospect and Esquire, broadcast on BBC Radio 4, and two are being adapted for film. In 2004 he received an Arts Council Grant to complete ‘Greenfly’, and in 2007 his story
‘The Good Guy’ was runner up in the Royal Society of Literature’s VS Pritchett Memorial Prize. He is currently working on a second collection of stories and completing a PhD at Goldsmiths College. The winner of the EFG Award will be announced on 30th March at the Sunday Times Oxford Literary Festival.
