Will Boast, the 2011 Charles Pick Writing Fellow at UEA, has signed a book deal with Norton in the US to publish his memoir, ‘The Pantomime Horse’. Will (pictured) was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford
University from 2008-2010, and worked on his memoir while resident at UEA last year. He was born in England and grew up in Ireland and Wisconsin, and in 2010 published his first short story collection, ‘Power Ballads’, which won the 2011 Iowa Short Fiction Award and was shortlisted for a California Book Award. His essays and fiction have appeared in The New York Times, ‘Best New American Voices 2009’, Narrative, Glimmer Train, The Southern Review, and The American Scholar, among other publications.
