New Writing

‘The Inland Sea’ by UEA Creative Writing alumna K.J. (Katherine) Orr is to be published this month by Daunt Books in a special limited edition (pictured), while ‘Elegy For A Bio-Pirate’ has been commissioned by Comma Press for the forthcoming collection ‘Bio-Punk: Stories From the Far Side of Research’. Katherine’s story ‘The Human Circadian Pacemaker’ was shortlisted for the 2011 BBC National Short Story Prize. She graduated from the UEA MA in Creative Writing in 2008, and in 2010 won AHRC funding for a collection of short stories as part of her PhD at the University of Chichester. She has won awards for both short fiction and plays, and been shortlisted for the London Writers’ Prize, the Asham Award and the Bridport Prize.
