‘Firefly’ is the latest novel by UEA alumna Janette Jenkins and is published this week by Chatto & Windus. Janette graduated from the MA in Creative Writing at UEA in 1995, where she was in Malcolm Bradbury’s final class alongside Toby Litt, John Boyne, Richard Beard and Bo Fowler. Her first novel ‘Columbus Day’ was published in 1999 and has been succeeded by ‘Another Elvis Love Child’ (2002), ‘Angel of Brooklyn’ (2008) and ‘Little Bones’ (2012). Her short stories have appeared in newspapers and anthologies and have been broadcast on Radio 4. In 2003 she was awarded an Alumni Fellowship by the University of Bolton.
