‘Jam’ is the new novel by UEA alumnus Jake Wallis Simons and is published by Polygon this week. Jake (pictured) graduated with a first class degree in English from St Peter’s College, Oxford, before completing his PhD in Creative and Critical Writing at UEA in 2009. His first novel, ‘The Exiled Times of a Tibetan Jew’, was published in 2005 and was followed by ‘The English German Girl’ in 2011. A thriller, ‘The Pure’, was published under the name Jake Simons in 2012. Jake joined The Telegraph as a features writer in 2012, and in 2013 he wrote and produced ‘Meet the Settlers’, the Telegraph’s first major multi-media documentary, which won a European Newspapers Award for digital journalism. He is a regular contributor to ‘From Our Own Correspondent’ on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
