Fallen’ by Erin Soros has been shortlisted for this year’s Costa Short Story Award, which is worth £3,500 to the winner. Erin (pictured) graduated from the PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA last year, having initially joined UEA as the 2008 Charles Pick Writing Fellow. She was previously shortlisted for the Costa Short Story Award in 2013 for her story ‘Still Water, BC’. In 2008 she was shortlisted for the BBC National Short Story Award, and in 2011 she was longlisted for the Sunday Times EFG Award. The winner of this year’s Costa Short Story Award – which was won in 2012 by UEA alumna Avril Joy – will be announced on 26th January.
