The American poet Peter Gizzi will be reading at the UEA Drama Studio tomorrow evening at 8pm, and will be joined by the poets Jennifer Cooke and Meryl Pugh. Admission is free. Gizzi (pictured) has taught at Brown University and The University of California and has taught at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since 2001. For several years, he was poetry editor at The Nation and is currently the Judith E. Wilson Visiting Fellow in Poetry at the University of Cambridge and is the author of In Defense of Nothing: Selected Poems, 1987-2011 (2014), The Outernationale (2007), Some Values of Landscape and Weather (2003), Artificial Heart (1998), and Periplum (1992). Jennifer Cooke’s most recent book, Apocalypse Dreams, was published by Sad Press last year. Meryl Pugh recently completed a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing at UEA and is the author of The Bridle (Salt, 2011) and Relinquish (Arrowhead, 2007).
