The Wound Register by UEA alumna Esther Morgan has been named runner-up for the 2019 New Angle Prize, which celebrates literature associated with or influenced by the region of East Anglia. Esther (pictured) graduated from the Creative Writing (Poetry) MA in 1997 and was the recipient of an Eric Gregory Award in 1998. Her first collection Beyond Calling Distance was published by Bloodaxe in 2001 and won the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize and was shortlisted for the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize. Her third collection Grace was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. The Wound Register is her fourth collection and was published by Bloodaxe last year. Another UEA graduate, Matthew De Abaitua, was shortlisted for the prize for his memoir Self & I, which is published by Eye Books.
