Ella Thompson and Katie Stockton win Snoo Wilson awards

The annual Snoo Wilson Prize for the most original work at dissertation level in Scriptwriting at UEA was won this year by Ella Thompson at BA level for her play Sorry We Cut Off Your Head and by Katie Stockton (pictured) at MA level for her comic radio series Car Crash Girl. The other shortlisted writers were Geronimo Bennington-Poulter, Ella Dorman-Gajic and Jack Fitch. The prizes were judged and presented by UEA’s UNESCO Professor in Playwriting Timberlake Wertenbaker and the Artistic Director of The Garage Theatre Adam Taylor. The world renowned playwright Snoo Wilson graduated from UEA in 1969, and died in 2013. His papers are deposited in the British Archive for Contemporary Writing.
