The Anthill is the debut novel by UEA alumna and Creative Writing lecturer Julianne Pachico and is published this week in the USA by Doubleday. It will be published by Faber & Faber in the UK in April 2021. Julianne grew up in Cali, Colombia, and lived there until she was eighteen. She graduated from the UEA Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) MA in 2013, and completed her PhD in Creative & Critical Writing at UEA in 2017. She currently teaches in the Creative Writing programme. Her debut collection of stories, The Lucky Ones, was published by Faber & Faber in 2017 and shortlisted for The Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award. Her work has been published in a number of journals including Lighthouse and The New Yorker and in 2015 she was longlisted for the Sunday Times/EFT Short Story Award.
