‘Feeding my period blood to the Wordsworths’ garden’ by UEA alumna Anna Selby has been shortlisted and highly commended in the Rialto Nature and Place Poetry Competition, judged by Daljit Nagra. Three other poems by Anna were longlisted. Anna graduated from the BA in English Literature with Creative Writing in 2005 and from the MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) in 2006. She was the organiser of the Poetry Parnassus festival at the Southbank Centre in 2012 and co-edited The World Record anthology, published by Bloodaxe in 2011. She often works collaboratively with conservationists, and is currently completing a PhD on Plein Air Poetry, Empathy and Ecology at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her collection Field Notes was published by Hazel Press last year.
