The Hollow Sea is the debut novel by UEA alumna Annie Kirby and is published by Penguin Michael Joseph this week. Annie graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2004 and subsequently gained a PhD in American Studies. She has published short stories in anthologies and previously won the Asham Award for short fiction. In 2018 she selected for Penguin’s WriteNow programme, and in 2019 was awarded funding from Arts Council England to complete the writing of The Hollow Sea. Annie lives on the south coast of England, where she works part-time as a university researcher.
