Michael Egan’s Runner Hawk is a Times Book of the Year

Runner Hawk by UEA alumnus Michael Egan has been named a Times Children’s Book of the Year. Michael is from Liverpool and graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2022 as the recipient of the Booker Foundation scholarship. He is the author of six pamphlets of poetry, most recently the ghost maze, published by Red Ceilings. His first poetry collection Steak & Stations was published by Penned in the Margins in 2011. His second collection New Blasphemies is due to be published by Contraband in 2022. His debut novel, Circles a Clover, was published by Everything with Words in 2021. Runner Hawk is his YA debut, and an extract is available on this platform.
