‘CERTIFICATE OF INFERTILITY’ by UEA alumna Jekwu Anyaegbuna was shortlisted for the Aesthetica Magazine Fiction Prize. While his story was not the overall winner, shortlisted works will be published in Aesthetica Magazine‘s Creative Writing Anthology 2024. Jekwu (pictured) graduated from the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) in 2019 as that year’s recipient of the Miles Morland Scholarship and is currently undertaking a fully-funded PhD in Creative and Critical Writing. He was awarded a fellowship by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation for Creative Writing and was the winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for Africa. His writing has appeared in Granta, Ambit, Magma, The Massachusetts Review, Transition and Prairie Schooner. He recently won this year’s Poetry London Prize.
